Nutanix AHV

Nutanix AHV is a modern and secure virtualization platform that powers VMs and containers for applications and cloud-native workloads on-premises and in public clouds.

Deploy

The following steps describe how to deploy YugabyteDB Anywhere and YugabyteDB using Nutanix AHV VMs:

  1. Choose an operating system for deploying YugabyteDB.

  2. Create AHV VMs on Nutanix Prism with Network Interface Controller (NIC).

  3. Create, add, and mount storage volumes on the AHV VMs.

  4. Create and attach volume groups to the AHV VMs.

  5. Install YugabyteDB Anywhere using YBA Installer.

  6. Create additional AHV VMs to act as on-premises database nodes.

  7. Provision the VMs as on-premises database nodes.

  8. Create an on-premises provider and add the nodes.

  9. Create an on-premises universe.

Tip

For high availability, create an affinity rule on the Prism side that hosts AHV nodes (database nodes) on separate controller VMs.
